Heroes vs Villains 2017

from $28.00

The Heroes and Villains Collection actually spans most of my high school career, with 2 18’’x 24’’ posterboard made each year. These artworks serve as time capsules for each year, reflecting my high school’s perceptions of who they identify as heroes and villains. The process was simple, I would interview students, teachers, and staff across the school with a simple question,” Who is your favorite hero/villain?”, cataloguing and writing down every answer I was given into my sketchbook, usually tallying about 150-200 responses. Of course, I’d get a lot of repeats because usually the first thing that pops into people’s heads are extremely popular icons like Superman or The Joker, for example, but I would ask them to think beyond that. I would then compile and draw them using multimedia onto the posterboards, each one sporting characters from history, books, movies, games, tv shows, life, and more.

This is the print version of the 2017 variant. Available in 12” x 16” in Matte, Gloss, or Holographic style on heavy card stock paper. This variant is also cheaper than the other two since it is technically not complete: some of the "Heroes" are not completely inked.
